Our Story

How It All Began

Where Saints Go was built on a shared belief. Furniture should have purpose, presence and longevity.
We created this business together, combining decades of experience, a trained eye for design and a deep respect for craftsmanship.

Founders. Family run. Built together.

Before launching Where Saints Go, Mark built his career as a roomset photographer working with leading advertising agencies including Saatchi and Saatchi, BDH and Buchanans. Years spent studying proportion, light and composition shaped the way we view furniture today. It was never about trends. It was about balance, detail and how a space feels.

Where the eye for detail began.

Mark later moved to France, sourcing antiques and selling from a shop in Camden. The business supplied private clients, trade buyers and exported to the United States. That experience evolved into an interior design company based in Bolton, furnishing hotels and investment properties across Spain, Portugal and Morocco.

Importing followed. Malaysia, China and India opened new doors and introduced larger scale production.

From antiques to international sourcing.

Then 2008 forced a reset. It was during that period of change that we met.
Tracey’s professional background was in the legal sector. Structured. Disciplined. Detail driven. Yet her instinctive love for statement furniture always sat just beneath the surface.

Her devotion to bold design began during her student days in Manchester, where she would redesign her accommodation room by room, pulling up carpets and whitewashing walls in preparation for the next revamp. Even then, her style was eclectic and slightly off the wall. That instinct still shapes our collection today.

What began as conversation quickly became a shared vision. We believed we could build something of our own, combining creativity, discipline and experience. That was the beginning of Where Saints Go. We started again from scratch.

The business began on the top floor of an old mill. The roof leaked. There was no heating. Every container was unloaded by hand. Every chair carried up three flights of stairs. When sold, it went back down the same way.

There was no outside investment. No shortcuts. Only hard work.

At The Start
Now

The early days. Built the hard way.

From the beginning we worked side by side.
We buy together. We travel together. We make decisions together.

Tracey brings a sharp creative eye and strong commercial discipline. Mark brings years of sourcing experience and design background. Every piece is assessed from both perspectives before it joins our collection.

Buying together. Choosing carefully.

In 2014 we travelled to India on our first buying trip as a team. We have returned almost every year since. Over time we have changed suppliers, particularly in India, choosing to work only with partners who invest in their staff, improve working conditions and take pride in their craft.

Jodhpur remains a favourite. The blue city beneath the fort. It reminds us that furniture carries history and skill.

We look beyond surface design. We assess construction, materials and durability. We work with factories across India, China, Indonesia and the Philippines who share our long term mindset and standards. Growth has never been about chasing scale. It has been about raising standards.

Today Where Saints Go remains family run and hands on. We are still involved in sourcing. Still involved in selection. Still selective. Our values are simple. Choose design with purpose. Work with people who care. Build relationships that last. Offer furniture made to live with, not replace.
