Owned by John Stoner and Caroline Norton, the pair were careful to restore the building empathetically. Aiming to retain as much of the original post office as possible and consider the original use in the new design, the vintage and industrial feel is instantly noticeable as soon as you walk through the door.
The original post office was first opened in 1923. The building was designed by the renowned architect Sir Charles Wilkinson and presented lots of opportunities when it came to restoring and making use of original features.
Throughout the renovation, there has been a lot of focus on the use of quality materials. As you step through the door, the bespoke bar will instantly draw the eye. Made from solid oak and finished with metro tiles in grey and white, no detail has been overlooked, with each and every element of the design being carefully sourced and repurposed.
From the slate flooring and copper pipes on the bar top, to the beautiful wooden paneled walls, the refurbishment does the building justice, and presents a beautiful setting for relaxing with friends and family.
